Dr. Guilfoy graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1982. He completed his orthopaedic residency at Texas Tech University and William Beaumont Army Hospital in El Paso, Texas in 1990. He served 13 years in the United States Air Force and separated from Mather AFB in 1992. He has practiced Orthopaedic Surgery since 1990. Dr. Guilfoy has worked and lived in the Folsom area since 1992.
His practice is in General Orthopaedics of the upper and lower extremities. He performs arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, elbow, ankle, and hip. Also reconstructive surgery including total joint arthroplasty of the hip, knee, and shoulder. He treats pediatric and adult fractures, and sport and soft tissue injury.
Dr. Guilfoy is board certified in orthopaedic surgery. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a Member of the California Orthopaedic Asssociation, American Medical Association, and a member of the Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society.
He has served as Chief of Staff at Mercy hospital of Folsom and Chief of Surgery at Mercy Hospital of Folsom. He is Medical Director for Folsom Surgery Center.
Dr. Guilfoy is involved in numerous community projects in the Folsom area. He has served as Team Physician for Folsom High School Football since 1993. He is a volunteer medical specialist for the Spirit Program for Sacramento County Medical Society. He serves on foreign medical mission trips.
Interests include snowboarding, skiing, bicycling, sailing, motorcycles, travel and music.
